"Dora and the Lost City of Gold" is a live-action adventure film based on the popular animated TV series "Dora the Explorer." Dora soon finds herself reunited with her friends from childhood: the nerdy Randy, the athletic Sammy, and the fashion-conscious Shelly. The group is joined by Alejandro, a fellow student who claims to be a friend of Dora's parents and knows their current location. They reveal that her parents are being held hostage by mercenaries who aim to discover the Lost City of Gold for their own gain.
To rescue her parents, Dora and her friends embark on a perilous journey into the jungle, guided by a map that Dora's parents left behind. On their adventure, they encounter various challenges, including solving puzzles, navigating treacherous terrain, and avoiding dangerous traps. Throughout the journey, Dora's resourcefulness and knowledge prove invaluable.
As they delve deeper into the jungle, Dora's group becomes divided when they are captured by the mercenaries. Dora, Randy, and Sammy manage to escape and continue their mission to find the Lost City of Gold, while Shelly and Alejandro are held captive. Along the way, Dora and her friends encounter the mysterious and mischievous Swiper, who has now become a human.
With Swiper's help, Dora and her friends infiltrate the mercenaries' camp and rescue Shelly and Alejandro. Reunited, they continue their quest and finally reach the Lost City of Gold. There, they discover that the city is not made of gold but of knowledge and friendship.
